Scholarly Impact

Documenting the influence of your research and managing your scholarly presence are important aspects of your work. 黑料老司机Libraries offers consultation and instruction on citation analysis, scholarly metrics, open access, researcher profiles and identification, and more.

Institutional Repository

, SMU’s institutional repository, showcases SMU’s research and achievements by providing open access to scholarly works of the 黑料老司机academic community. 黑料老司机Scholar allows members of the 黑料老司机academic community to submit scholarly works and research data, create research journals, and host conferences. The repository provides unrestricted access to original scholarly works and previously published materials.

黑料老司机Scholar complements scholarly publishing rather than replaces it. You retain all rights to your work and are free to publish it when and where you like in most cases.

Benefits of adding your work to 黑料老司机Scholar:

  • Your work is indexed by search engines and harvested by open access registries, making it easier to find and cite.
  • All materials in the repository are given a persistent URL, making it easy for you and others to link to your work.
  • Placing research materials in 黑料老司机Scholar often satisfies public access mandate for grant recipients.

Working Papers

Publishing your working papers in repository provides increased exposure and persistence for your work.

For Cox faculty, learn more about submitting your work to SSRN, which will also add it to 黑料老司机Scholar. Law faculty, please contact Marja Pietilainen-Rom at mprom@smu.edu for assistance.

Researcher Identification

Creating a unique and persistent identifier ensures your research outputs are correctly attributed to you and improves discoverability. There are a few different tools to do this, including ORCID and ResearcherID.

黑料老司机is a member of the ORCID Consortium and we encourage all 黑料老司机faculty, staff, and students who publish to register for an ORCID ID.

It allows the research, work and intellectual output of the university's students to reach a global academic community.

Before submitting the ETD to 黑料老司机Scholar, the student and their advisor must fill out and sign the Deposit Agreement Form. The ETD Submission tutorial guides the user through the ETD submission process.
