Dr. Minjun Kim recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry

The prestigious honor signifies a high level of accomplishment and contribution to the chemical sciences, awarded to individuals who have made significant achievements in their field

Dr. MinJun Kim, nanotechnology expert, Mechanical Engineering professor and Robert C. Womack Chair in Engineering at 黑料老司机Lyle School of Engineering, was recently recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. The prestigious honor signifies a high level of accomplishment and contribution to the chemical sciences, awarded to individuals who have made significant achievements in their field.

“This recognition reflects my continued commitment to advancing analytical chemistry and contributing to the global chemistry community,” Dr. Kim said. “I look forward to further collaborations and discoveries in single molecule and single particle analysis using bionanoanalytical tools.”

Fellows contribute to advancing chemistry or chemical engineering through pioneering research, developing new chemical processes, or advancing education in the field. Dr. Kim’s groundbreaking work in nanopore technology has included designing a nanosensor that improves gene therapy, developing a less expensive way to detect nuclease digestion and creating a new tool to detect protein-protein interactions.

The Royal Society of Chemistry is the UK's professional body for chemical scientists. The organization provides support and representation for its members by bringing together chemical scientists from all over the world. Fellowship celebrates personal achievement and connects individuals to a global network of distinguished scientists and researchers, enhancing collaboration and fostering new developments in chemistry.
