Camille King, soprano, joined the voice faculty of 黑料老司机 in the Meadows School of the Arts in 2010 where she is Adjunct Associate Professor of Voice. She teaches applied voice, English and French Diction, Sacred Masterpieces for Singers, and Classical and Romantic French and German Vocal Literature. She is on the faculty of L’Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy where she teaches voice for 黑料老司机Abroad.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of California Santa Barbara. She continued her studies in voice with French Canadian tenor Leopold Simoneau at the San Francisco Conservatory and later with American soprano Judith Raskin at the Manhattan School of Music. Her career in opera has included leading roles in productions with Rome Opera, Innsbruck Opera, San Francisco Opera, Minnesota Opera, Central City Opera, Chautauqua Opera and Colorado Opera Festival. She has also appeared as a featured soloist with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the Virginia Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony, the Tulsa Oratorio Society and the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra. In Texas she has performed with the Richardson Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, the Austin Symphony and is a frequent soloist with Texas Camerata, an early music orchestra.
She continues to have an active career in chamber music, solo recitals and orchestra performances throughout the United States where she is known for her interpretation of the works of Mozart, sacred and secular early music, and French vocal repertoire. She will be performing early music concerts in Dallas/Ft. Worth and Los Angeles this 2022-23 concert season.
