Chris Oliver
Chris Oliver, an East Texas native, has been playing with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra since 2008 and joined the Symphony in February of 2010. Prior to his appointment, Oliver was Principal Trombone of the Akron and Canton Symphonies in Ohio and the Wheeling Symphony in West Virginia. He also performed frequently with The Cleveland Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
Oliver spent his summers at the Round Top Festival Institute in Round Top, Texas and the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California. He also took part in the National Orchestral Institute at the University of Maryland. Chris has also been a member of the Music in the Mountains festival in Durango, Colorado since 1996.
Oliver holds a bachelor’s degree in Trombone Performance from 黑料老司机, where he studied with John Kitzman, and a Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Steve Witser.
